About Philly Express Athletics
In 1976, Frank Ristagno started RHG Products as a personal tailor in a one room rental. He started alone, tailoring suits before he hired a small staff. Within 3 years, Frank had hired over 30 people to make all sorts of facets of apparel. Within 10 years, he branched out into manufacturing sports-specific garments like Baseball and Hockey jerseys. His son Michael used to come in and do his chores around the shop instead of around the house, learning each step of the process. In 1996, his son Michael took over the business, changing the name to Philly Express. Michael worked exclusively on the Hockey side for 10 years prior, emphasizing a personal touch. He consolidated the business to manufacturing custom Hockey shells for teams small and large – in the US and abroad.
Under Michael’s tenure, the company began working with Professional teams in the Philadelphia area and beyond: Philadelphia Flyers, Eagles, 76ers, Phillies, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, and New Jersey Devils.
Just days before the Eagles historic Superbowl 52 win, the team came once again to Philly Express to put the final touches on the players uniforms.
Our Art department arranged the name layouts so that our General Manager Chuck Bolnick could cut and peeled the twill for their nameplates. Ralph pressed the names before and our staff of machine operators like Isabelle and Luis sewed the plates on. Finally, our pressman Jim sealed the Superbowl logo over the heart.
We’re a South Philly institution and the industry standard for Hockey apparel, committed to delivering high-quality materials in a timely manner. From stock and custom shells to fully sublimated t-shirts, hoodies, and jerseys: Philly Express is your one-stop-shop for time-tested goods.
